June happenings
This Saturday, June 6, we will be participating in downtown Clayton's Square to Square Festival (https://www.townofclaytonnc.org/404/Square-to-Square-Street-Festival). This huge event features vendors, kids' activities and rides, free watermelon and Sno-cones, and a section for non-profits where we will be set up. If you are able to help, set-up is from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m., and the event runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. We will have a tent with some information about the chorus and will be reaching out to all passersby to encourage them to consider joining us in the fall! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL SO THAT WE KNOW TO EXPECT YOU. WE WILL SEND YOU MORE INFORMATION ABOUT WHERE TO MEET US, AS WELL.
The following Saturday, June 13, our very own A Cappellas will be reprising "Take Me Home, Country Roads" in the Smithfield's Got Talent competition, selected to perform based on their video submission. Come support them at 7:00 p.m. at the outdoor Neuse River Amphitheatre (150 S. Front Street).
On Saturday, June 27, we have the opportunity to perform with a massed choir for the America 250 Fair at Johnston Community College. We will be singing "America the Beautiful" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" with other local singers. There is a group rehearsal at the college at 8:30 a.m., and the performance will begin at 10:00 a.m. This free event runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and includes a living history encampment, a parade and cannon firing, art and history displays, a puppet show, carriage rides, food and craft vendors, a juried art and photography exhibition, and information booths from local organizations. (https://www.johnstonnc.gov/heritage/hccontent.cfm?PID=a250map) IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE MASSED CHOIR, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL. WE MUST SUBMIT ALL SINGERS BY JUNE 13.
